Now that the conversion is compete, I’m blogging more than ever!  Now my attention is on daily use for an EV and the grid vehicle community.

Here is the history for my conversion and what got me started:

Thanksgiving 2006: my In Law’s (below) gave me their 96 RAV4 for a conversion to Electric.

I’m a software architect (meaning design enterprise software system), but also have a mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering background. Electric cars have been an interest area of mine since I was 11.

By a strange and unexplained coincidence my 11 year old son, Alex, is also very interested in electric cars. Here is Alex working on (or in) the RAV.

Here are my in-law’s with the RAV on the first day of the transformation into the RAVolt.

After 5 months and $10k, the RAVolt is on the road for our 4th of July parade!
