I’ve been doing some research to allay some of my conversion fears. The answer to my #1 fear (mechanical connection between the transmission and motor is an “adapter plate” that is designed for the RAV. Now I just need to find out where to buy one. Google is not providing a quick result.
I’m still trying to hookup with someone making next generation lead-acid batteries. If that falls through, I’ll be using flooded batteries. They seem like a good fit for the type of driving that I want to do.
An cool note: I went to a holiday party last night and was surprised to find lots of people in my Neighborhood who are really interesting in conversions and want to help out! Someone was so intent on a conversion, they even had a copy of Bob Brant’s Build an EV book to load me.
