Now that we’re talking DC again, let’s see the choices. With a 2800 curb weight, the RAV needs a beefy engine and battery pack if I want any range and highway speeds. The max for DC seems to be 144 volts.
I’ve got it down to 2 choices: ElectroAuto or EV-America. Both offer the same system (Advanced DC motor & Curtis controller). They both have good track records. It may come down to who can help me get the adapter made faster. Frankly, I’ve gotten better service from EV-America. I like ElectroAuto’s kits.
PS: One bright spot. DC is easier on the budget (about 50%) the cost of an AC system.
