Ah, the lingo of machines! I’m trying to plan out the adapter fitting and realized that I’ll need a handful of bolts, nuts, and washers. The motor needs 1.25″ 3/6-16UNC bolts with lock washers (.5″ adapter + .8 motor hole + ? washer). I also need to get nuts & washers for the bell bolts (which I have).
One EV site recommended using 2 pilot holes with spring pins to lock the position of the plate and bell after alignment. That sounds like a great plan to me. I’ll probably machine down the shape of the adapter first and then set the pins.
While I was researching, I found a good link about an electrical power steering pump. If Laura is going to drive the RAVolt, then power steering will be a must have. The JeepEV is an AustinEV so it should be easy to compare notes.
