On the outside, looking in: front battery box gets sides

I’ve been using Laura’s retired political yard signs (no, she didn’t win) to make the battery box sides. Except for the ones that show through the grill, I’m painting them day-glow yellow. My first attempts really match the RAVolt’s green paint and hide the front batteries so well that people don’t realize that there are batteries there.

I need to make them more sealed because some rain was getting into the engine area. That’s not a big problem (all the components are relatively weather proof), but I can make a better seal.

The ties that bind us…

…are not as practical as zip strips. Yesterday Alex bundled up the various wires and pull them out of the way. I’m reluctant to cut them so we just tucked them out of sight.  If I can prove they don’t matter then future RAV4’s conversions may be able snip a few more of these wires.
Twenty strips later and the wires are nearly invisible!
Wire tied

OK, not invisible.  At least they are not hanging into other components.   Note: I did trim back extra strip after the locks.
