Sam’s club has created a $35k EV offering for their “1 of a kind” promotions that includes a slightly used prototype EV and a trip to Orlando’s space center. They are not selling EVs, just the prototype so this seems like a creative way for Hybrid Technologies(r) to offload a prototype EV. The actual cost to build the prototype is probably over $50k, so maybe this is really a very sweet deal. Then again, owning a one of a kind EV is not for everyone.
Maybe I should considering using this gimmick when I’m ready to upgrade the RAVolt to a new glider. I could pair it with a trip to Detroit or Washington DC so that people can witness first hand how the US stifles innovation. Hmmmm…scratch Marketing off the list as a potential career choice.
